Let’s talk about inequality
You think it’s unfair that he has 100x what you have
You think that system is evil
Or that he is evil
Or in the best case: that this is just a bug in the system
That 10x is maybe sensible, but not 100x
The only bug in the system is when someone has 100x despite NOT being a 100x man
One man’s work can easily be worth 100 times the work of another man
And when a bunch of men like that come together — they build a 1 000 000 x business
100x man exist, capitalism or not
In capitalism, of course, 100 000 000 000 x men exist.
Their superiority gets scaled by the leverage of capital, and other superior men’s help, and some luck
But 100x man exist, capitalism or not
I saw them
We’re not equal, not even close
Never underestimate how much better one can be than another, at given thing
Never underestimate how mediocre the mediocrity is
Never underestimate how brilliant excellence is
Find out yourself
Mingle with the mediocrity and mingle with excellence
Learn to do something excellently
Then find someone who does it better than you. See the levels to his “excellence thing”
Also learn to do something excellently — and then try to teach it
Try having others do it
Try having others do many things
Try doing very many things, and try having others do very many things, and watch others do very many things
You’ll see how EXTREMELY varied human ability is
You’ll see how EXTREMELY varied human ability is
How absolutely one man’s output can be worth 100 lesser man output
And in VERY TANGIBLE, MEASURABLE, OBJECTIVE way.
And EVEN BEFORE the capital, to provide them leverage
Observe all that, genuinely explore it, first hand experience it, meet such man, become such man,
and then ask yourself if the world really is so unfair
Or perhaps we are being unfair in failing to appreciate just how DIVERSE and UNIQUE each and every single one of us is
There’s nothing wrong with being a 100x man
There’s nothing wrong with being a lesser man
What matters is that you do your best today
What matters is that you do your best today — but do your best THERE WHERE YOUR “BEST” MATTERS
This is why I’m telling you about the 100x man
You don’t want to compete with that man
You either want to be that man — or work with that man
Or perhaps only work for that man
You don’t want to pretend that this man does not exist
And you definitely don’t want to be putting this man down
And again, this is no stupid fucking cult of personality
All cults are delusional, therefore deleterious
100x man is a fact
To do better you want to learn facts
This fact has been denied for too long, because we’re all so envious and insecure
When you get over your envy, insecurity, petty ambition — you don’t feel hostile to others, you don’t feel threatened — and you are actually capable of appreciating them
And then you appreciate the 100x man
Not in a cultish way, not in a fanboy-ish way
But in a “how can I contribute to that man’s cause” kind of way
In a “what can I learn from that man” kind of way
