Respect is a Bad Habit

Respect is a bad habit.

We learnt RESPECT out of compulsion, indolence and meekness.

We were forced to DEFER and RESPECT.

We grew fond of this affliction, in our innate intellectual slothfulness and weakness.

Now it’s just a bad habit.

All habits are mediocrity and bad habits are destructive.

You look up to authority and this makes you stupid. You shirk your responsibility to THINK INDEPENDENTLY by subduing to authority.

You do this habitually and this is a bad habit which makes you stupid.

Belief in authority is like any other belief — rejection of the unknown.

You replace the unknown with a belief about it.

You replace your responsibility to face the unknown of life with whatever commandments your venerated authority has conferred on you.

Respect is a bad habit!

One should question this strange mechanism by which one subdues himself to “authority”!

It is obviously dangerous to NOT THINK.

Respect is a bad habit unless one turns it into a conscious heuristic.

One would then use it as a PREDICTION. Not as a psychological comfort.
