When You’re Bored – Do NOTHING

You are bored because you seek to be entertained.

To seek is to be seeking.

You seek it through hedonism and stimulation. It numbs you. Whatever you abuse – turns right against you. It’s simply unnatural. It’s not how homo sapiens fucking works.

When you are bored — do NOTHING.

If there’s a magic pill – that’s one.

The whole process of boredom is put to motion by first setting an ideal, an ideal of non-boredom, an ideal of entertainment, pleasure and stimulation.

Once you let go of that ideal — the whole thing instantly VANISHES.

You can only be bored in relation to something. In relation to an idea of achieving something, of doing something. Once you let go of it — it instantly disappears.

Genuine curiosity comes in it’s place. A genuine sense of wonder. A kind of wonder, which is otherwise obscured by all the noise of your action-seeking, entertainment seeking.

This is among the reasons why doing nothing is so powerful. This is why Lao Tzu says: “Practice not doing, and everything will fall into place”.

He’s right.

Practice not doing, and everything will fall into place.
