PAUSE, Take a Breath

Pause

Take a breath

 

Pause

whatever you’re doing — pause

close your eyes and take a long breath

or 2 or 10

or set a timer,

a short MEDITATIVE INTERLUDE

 

And the less you want to pause — the more VITAL it is that you pause

Because chances are

you don’t know where the fuck you’re going

 

You don’t know do you

There’s so much going on that it’s too much for your comprehension

You do this for that reason and that for this reason… it’s exhausting!

 

You don’t even know the reason

And sometimes you don’t want to know the reason

It doesn’t agree with your narrative

 

Except eventually all this ignorance catches up with you

Because you said you had “goals”

But how do you get to your destination if you’re not even paying attention to the road?

 

This works on the macro and it works on the micro

“You must break your momentum

NEVER let yourself be confined into a rut”

This was life philosophy advice

Here’s a life advice:

“PAUSE MANY TIMES EVERY DAY”

 

Pause many times every day

ESPECIALLY when you don’t want to

Because that’s when you’re least conscious, and have least control

And likewise: that’s when you’ve most to benefit

That’s where you can really RECLAIM your POWER

 

And the POWER we’re speaking of is CONSCIOUSNESS

I do not recommend strongarming and forcing and coercing yourself to do things, exploiting your willpower in the battle against your own self…

If you can reclaim your consciousness, your intelligence, your awareness — then you will KNOW what to do.

If you can PAUSE: and observe your habits, your desires, your attention, your distractions, your energy, your mood — in REAL time — then you will be able to make an informed, intelligent decision

You will be able to go hard

You will be able to do the thing which will make you proud of yourself

Or you will be able to take the harmonious course of action: one which is devoid of self-conflict, nor is an escape and weakness

 

Therefore pause

Take a break

If you believe that you “don’t have time” for a fucking pause — then SCHEDULE “x” amount of time for pauses. Even a 30 second pause will do.

The point is the FACT that you PAUSED, that you broke the momentum, that you took a step back and LOOKED at yourself, at your day, at your life

This is THE life-hack

Or rather — those other “life-hacks” are indeed just you TRICKING yourself to do this and be that,

Enough with tricks

Just PAUSE — take a look at yourself, at what you WANT TO DO, at the RESOURCES available (energy, time, mood) — and do what is right
