Internet Tool Of Delusion And Enlightenment

Tools provide leverage

Whatever you want to achieve — you will achieve better, faster, bigger — with a tool

You can create more with a powerful tool

You can destroy more with a powerful tool

INTERNET IS A TOOL

Social media is a tool

You can use it to benefit yourself and the world,

Or you can use it to ruin yourself and the world

Internet exploded the flow of information

and disinformation

Just like books did before it

To one that seeks — this facilitated access to resources and solutions and answers

To one that deludes himself — this aggravated his delusions and biases

We all delude ourselves somewhat

If you don’t delude yourself then you’re enlightened

I hope your use of the internet is net positive in your life

It may not be net positive tomorrow — when internet becomes even more extreme. It will become more extreme with the emergence of VR. And VR will emerge.

(if you doubt it — your ancestors also doubted you starring into a 6inch fucking flashy glass for half a fucking day)

How do you deal with this confirmation bias? How do you use that tool?

It’s simple

Your desire is to confirm your biases and delusions

Do the opposite

Truth-seeker seeks opposing views

He seeks to disprove his theories

He understands that he is biased, and biased to confirm his very biases

He understands that negative statements are more reliable than positive (it’s easier to show that something doesn’t work and when it doesn’t work — than to show how it works exactly)

Truth-seeker seeks opposing views

He will amplify his search for OPPOSING VIEWS by using the internet

He will proactively search the internet for opposing views

…and internet is PLENTIFUL with opposing views

Algorithms do their best to show you what you want to see, and censorships exists too — but internet is just too big. You can’t censor the internet.

Therefore you can find ANYTHING on the internet

And you should look for it

You should look for anything different

And then you should argue for it, and against it

No argument is below youlearn to argument better

Argue for it, and against it, as an INTELLECTUAL WORKOUT

Take it seriously, as though your life depended on it

Because it does

Human condition is to end up in one’s own bubble

Now it’s not just your real life environment which creates that bubble — now it’s also the internet

You can move your spirit to the internet and live in a bubble that’s impossible to penetrate

In real world at least you sometimes get some feedback from outside your bubble

On the internet — not necessarily

So go on proactively about it

Seek opposing views

Pit them against each other,

Try to predict the arguments each side is going to make

Make thesis and antithesis and synthesis

Use internet like a power user, use it as a tool for wisdom
