About Success Advice

Avoid all “SUCCESS” advice, unless it’s:

-extremely specific

-or extremely broad

what does it mean?

Extremely specific means that it pertains to a very particular subject.

Read a book “How to successfully change light bulb”.

It will be a good book, with straight-forward process to achieve success at changing a light bulb. That’s better then most books with the word “success” in their title.

Make sure it’s a proven process, replicable. What many call “straight-forward” is just straight-forward-sounding — but not straight-forward at all in regards to achieving success. I could give you straight-forward tip to jump to the moon — “bend your legs and jump”. Never mind it doesn’t fucking work.

Extremely broad means that it pertains to EVERYTHING.

PRINCIPLES can be very broad

Principles are never perfectly causal — so forget about “proofs”

But principles emerge when you solve tens and hundreds and thousands of problems

Find someone who solved many different problems — and absorb his life lessons

Again: either VERY SPECIFIC – or VERY BROAD.

Either very concrete proof (of SPECIFIC method) — or many strong indications (about the reliability of given BROAD principle)

This automatically eliminates most “success” advice. Really leaving us MOSTLY with either literal HOW-TO MANUALS, or BIOGRAPHIES.

HOW-TO manuals are specific and concrete enough.

BIOGRAPHIES of very broadly successful people contain principles and patterns which are broadly-enough applicable, and have been broadly enough applied in their endeavours, to great success

Most advice lacks that depth, of course. Nor is it concrete — unless of course it’s an advice on how to change a light-bulb

So read some MANUALS. At least you’ll learn something concrete, for a change — and not more false knowledge

And then read only the words of the wisest and most broadly successful. Not a one trick pony billionaire or some sport or pop star or some “genius” — but a true renaissance man. That means reading classics, and throwing away 99.9% nonsense.

Either very concrete or very broad
