I know few man who can move themselves.
Who can will their reality, will their action, will their mind — INDEPENDENTLY of the outside world.
Most man are the product of outside forces acting upon them
Most man are the product of outside forces acting upon them
Therefore most man only get better if the life causes them to get better
For most man the improvement doesn’t stem from “inspiration”
We are not really so inspiring. Most man are boring. Perhaps we’re born inspired — but then we get boring. Blame society or blame the government or blame yourself. I’m just stating a fact.
Either way before you can have any use of the INSPIRATION — you just need the DISCIPLINE.
It’s dumb. Without intelligence and inspiration, it is heavy yet empty.
However it is necessary
You need that force to move things
Therefore I don’t believe in absence of discipline
I laugh at glorification of discipline. It’s like glorifying a fucking hammer.
But I don’t believe in absence of discipline.
When there is not discipline — there’s no ground for higher development.
You can be positive and smiley and intellectual and spiritual and sophisticated and inspired and have a “vision” and “have ideas” and “be creative” — to me you’re still just a fucking CLOWN — if you can’t WILL it.
Thus I have a very simple rule of thumb:
ARE PEOPLE LAZY — OR ARE PEOPLE HARD WORKING?
If they are lazy — then they are having it TOO EASY.
Because most man CAN’T MOVE THEMSELVES, CAN’T MOTIVATE THEMSELVES.
Therefore speaking of inspiration and motivation and freedom and art and fucking spirituality — it’s all pointless.
If you’re doing FUCK ALL — then all of that will AVAIL YOU NOTHING.
It’s utterly irrelevant
I don’t underestimate the DESTRUCTIVE effects of “a JOB”, of a RUT — on spontaneity and creativity and self-expression.
I don’t underestimate the extent of MODERN SLAVERY
I don’t fail to appreciate the absurdity of a concept like a “billionaire”, having thousand times more than one should ever need,
But you know what,
WHAT IF IT’S NECESSARY?
Laying all fucking theorising and idealising aside — what if it’s necessary?
What if it’s necessary?
It’s pretty widely accepted that you can’t help others if they don’t want to be helped
What if in helping others we’re actually HINDERING them?
What if we’re taking away their only shot at self-improvement?
Blessing can be a curse. I’d rather be unlucky and LEARN to make my own luck
And what if there has to be a sacrifice?
Have you ever succeeded without failing? Would that even count as a success?
Then why do we expect everyone in the society to succeed? And succeed immediately, and without pain?
What if you have to suffer — in order to grow?
And what if some have to fail completely — in order for the rest of the society to grow?
Thus I have a very simple rule of thumb:
ARE PEOPLE LAZY?
OR ARE PEOPLE HARD WORKING? ARE PEOPLE DISCIPLINED? ARE PEOPLE INDUSTRIOUS? ARE PEOPLE RESOURCEFUL? ARE PEOPLE SERIOUS ABOUT THEIR LIVES?
Or are they serious about everything else but their lives? Distracting themselves by problems and ideas they have no business opening their fucking big mouths about.
Again let me remind you: you and I and your neighbour — are NOT BEYOND discipline
No matter how unique and special we think we are, how smart, how intellectually inclined, or maybe creative, or maybe we have a vision…. none of it matters.
If a little pain is what is necessary for you to ACTUALLY BECOME A BIT MORE USEFUL, actually become a better man — then not only society and state shouldn’t interfere with that — we should perhaps FACILITATE it
We should perhaps expect MORE of ourselves
Because becoming a RESPONSIBLE, CAPABLE INDIVIDUAL — it REALLY is worth it
And I say: We really shouldn’t take it for granted
Because I don’t see responsible, capable individuals around me
I see babies and idiots
I don’t care if they suffer. Not if that’s what it takes to grow up
I don’t believe it’s time to start a conversation of higher ideals of a FULFILLING and INSPIRING LIFE and of FREEDOM and SELF-ACTUALISATION and what-not — not when we are dealing with fucking babies
And no evidence under the sun has ever showed that INDULGING those babies more is the recipe for their immaturity and weakness
Finally, in a systemic sense:
Interventionism is really, really fucking hard.
Complex systems are, by definition, complex, therefore inscrutable
I know that a feckless baby with no real world experience and an egghead with all his neat theories thinks he “gets it”, thinks he knows how a system works, and thinks he knows how to fix it, thinks it’s obvious
But anyone whose actually been serious about getting desired outcomes in REAL WORLD — have learned that many systems are extremely complex and absolutely beyond our control.
It’s really fucking hard to improve something that we have no clue how it actually works
“What if the perceived bug is actually a feature?”
You won’t hear that question asked from an idiot savant academic, or from an idiot spoiled progressive
I suggested today that perhaps some of the glaring flaws of our systems are actually necessary. What if fixing them would have far adverse effects?
But I don’t think we should fix them anyway!
Because my rule of thumb is: are people HARD WORKING AND DISCIPLINED?
And if they aren’t — then they really don’t need a “better life”. They don’t deserve a “better life”!
They deserve the GIFT of SELF-IMPROVEMENT
The gift of MOTIVATION
Which is the gift of adversity
The gift of challenge
They deserve a chance to actually prove themselves, and get better
And realise their human potential
