Giving is Selfish, Altruistic and RATIONAL

Giving is obviously beneficial to the receiver — AND the giver

Giving is obviously beneficial to the giver, selfishly

It takes advantage of the reciprocity bias — often you’ll get more in return than you put in

In giving you acquire trust

You reveal peaceful, helpful intent

And in continuing giving you maintain that trust

In giving you facilitate synergistic cooperation

AND you simultaneously demonstrate it — by giving your surplus to those that need it more — thus effectively creating more value in the world (more need is met in the world)

So,

it’s really puzzling why humans are all:

-not showering each other with small useful gifts

(not useless gifts, which is a bit of a problem in our modern consumeristic world — but just giving something lovely to someone, that you know for a fact won’t be wasted… give me whisky please)

-not smiling at each other all the time, giving each other more love

-not being friendly to each other, it’s such a lovely feeling to have fun together, share good vibes together

-not helping one another when we can

-not looking to be more useful to one another

Of course the opposite of what I just described is:

-Lack of cooperation,

thus lack of synergies, thus lack of creativity, a stagnation

-Greed and thus poverty,

no one giving, no one sharing, no one having shit,

greed and poverty, too much of what’s not needed, not enough of what is needed, but too greedy to share, too greedy to give, too proud to receive

-Lack of trust, begetting hostility

begetting eventual violence and destruction

It’s all obviously stupid

It’s not rational

It’s not rational, besides being mean-hearted and mean-spirited and small-minded

It’s rational, in one’s rational self-interest, if nothing else, to cooperate with others

To take advantage of the synergies

And it’s definitely rational to not compete with others, and compete away resources and opportunities

Makes no fucking sense to be a mean cunt

Indeed,

Friendliness is underrated

Network as a resource is underrated

Social skills are underrated

Cooperation is underrated

Business is underrated too. As means of organising human capital and financial capital and every other resources, with the purpose of bringing about something new and useful

And of course giving is underrated

All of it is underrated, UNLESS viewed as CALCULATINGLY as above

Because above calculation is indeed the reality of cooperative synergistic creation

To not make that calculation is to be confused about how things are created in this world

Giving is as selfish as it gets

And as altruistic as it gets

This is how we take advantage of synergies
