Own Choices

Few men make their own choices.

Usually we only choose from a few alternatives.

Often less then that. Often we relinquish all the control, all the responsibility.

We are desperately dependent on our environment.

Since our choices are not ours – they belong to our environment.

Positive influence – positive outcome.

Negative influence – negative outcome.

Our success hinges on it.

Some of us even become aware of our own desperate weakness of will.

Schools.

Mastermind groups.

Accountability partners.

“The 5 people you surround yourself with”.

The greater the leverage – the greater the chance of being pushed in the right direction.

Without that we are hilariously inept.

Coercing oneself to certain trajectory through some accountability-ruse or mastermind-authority — it’s a temporary solution. It should work for as long as you find large enough external leverage.

What do you do when the leverage is gone?

Only the fewest of us are so intelligent and sensitive as to be able to do without outside influences.

Only the fewest of us are so strong as to be able to carry the entire burden of responsibility alone.

But those few become so powerful as to lift mountains.

Find the courage to rid yourself of security, comfort of the dogma, outside help, external motivation, pressure of the world, support of the people…
Find the courage to rid yourself of all these crutches — and you may just find yourself LIFTING FROM THE GROUND.
