I often write how man stagnates
…but anything stagnates – any entity.
If you stagnate – do something new. Do something different. Do things you do different.
If an organization stagnates – make it different. Make it do things different.
And if you won’t – the difference will come from the outside – the chaos will eventually start chipping away on that rock.
And it will then adapt – or crumble entirely.
And that crumbling, that obliteration and death — will ultimately be how it inevitably changes, anyway.
Thus i always tell you to LIVE and EXPERIMENT and CHANGE – for this is how you live, and not die — as to die is to cease changing, cease moving — and to live is to move
I want you to look through the lens of this philosophy at the world too — and be able to see what in this world is what, and will be or won’t be
Some things are incredibly robust, yes. They will not crumble today, won’t crumble tomorrow, won’t crumble before you crumble, won’t crumble before your family name crumbles.
Yet so many many things are fragile, are ephemeral. The “big thing” today is nothing tomorrow. And the next big thing tomorrow is the next nothing, after tomorrow.
One who can understand what changes and what doesn’t change is the one who can make predictions.
And the one who can make predictions is at the vanguard of this world: he is the visionary, the forerunner, the trend-setter, the investor, the leader
So look around yourself and ask yourself — what is here to stay, what is going to change, what is what.
Look at that which doesn’t change — and ask yourself — will that change? Will it remain, like it remained for a year, or two, or 10, or 100, or 1000… (hint — the older it is — the more likely to stay) — or will it change? Will it become transformed?
Is it already changing? Is it possible to be changed? Is it possible to be innovated? Is there someone innovating? Is there no one innovating? IS IT possible to be innovated?
Or is it perhaps stagnating? Is it perhaps failing to change? Should you change it? Will world change it? Will it crumble or transform itself?
Anything stagnates: both individuals, and organizations; Understand it and keep an eye for it.
Never underestimate the possibility of stagnation. Anything stagnates.
Status quo is status quo until it’s not.
There’s infinite opportunity there
