Being creative means CREATING.
Creating means ACTUALLY CREATING REALITY.
“Creative ideas” are only as creative as much they create reality, IMPACT reality.
Yes, a purely theoretical idea CAN be powerfully creative. Even conceived just in theory — it can have practical implications — which will be immediately recognised by the world and exploited. A REALITY is created from it.
But if there’s no reality emerging from your “creative idea” — then you’re not creative.
NOT creative.
One who recognised a creative idea and helps making it reality — he IS indeed creative.
The author of the creative idea is creative to the extent to which that creative idea became reality.
But the one bringing idea to life is MORE creative.
And the “creative mind” whose “creative ideas” are not made reality — he is not creative. He is NOT creative.
We think wrongly about creativity.
You first want to DO more.
And THEN you want to be more “creative” and “original” in your ideas and all the rest of it.
I do agree that some people apparently have more predisposition for creativity and originality and divergent thinking than others. We call them “creative”.
I do agree that some people are more hard-working and diligent — while in the same time being more PLODDING and uncreative and really just habitual.
However this is not at odds with my pronouncements.
It’s because we define “doing” the wrong way.
Even watching TV is “doing” something.
So why would doing a stupid job with no innovation be considered some more noble form of “doing” things? Why would that be considered “doing things”?
It’s NOT “DOING THINGS” unless it’s DOING NEW THINGS.
Therefore the “plodding” people ain’t really doing SHIT.
And likewise the false creative people — unless they are making their ideas reality — are doing SHIT. And are NOT creative.
If you’re “creative” — find ANY outlet to your creativity. Make it real. Actually start DOING something with your creativity.
Get a job, for starters. Make sure you can there implement your creativity.
It’s better to use it at a “job” then use it in your head, as a fucking fantasy.
Our idea of creativity is completely delusional.
It’s only CREATIVE if you can apply it.
Start in place where you actually are doing something, and something useful.
And if there’s no room to be creative there — find somewhere else to be useful and creative.
Again: It’s AS GOOD to CONTRIBUTE to someone’s “CREATIVE IDEA” being REALISED as it is to be working on one’s own creative idea.
Most “creative ideas” will go to shit, account to ABSOLUTELY nothing more than a fleeting mirage in someone’s self-congratulatory self-indulgent mental fantasy.
Recognise someone doing something creative and go help him instead.
Hell — Even RECOGNISING a GOOD CREATIVE IDEA is an act of CREATIVE JUDGEMENT. It requires vision. It requires divergent thinking. It requires creative foresight.
And if you’re “uncreative” — then stop whatever it is that you’re doing — and DO something different.
Because unless you’re learning and improving and refining and innovating your work — then it is WORTHLESS. You might as well go watch TV.
You are neither creating a new reality. Therefore you’re not really doing anything.
Conclusion:
BE CREATIVE
But TRULY creative
Which means creating reality
Anything but that is a waste of time, not worth the effort, might as well watch TV
And false creativity, fantasising, that is EVEN worse — as you’re deluding yourself that you’re actually creating something, doing something. Get a job
