Desperate to Feel That You’re “Good”

We want to feel that we’re “good”,

We want to believe in something

We want someone or something to lead us

Used to be god to tell us what is right and wrong

Priest telling us what to believe in

Telling us what to do

Used to be god or priest or your “love of country” or your family

But who will save you now?

You so desperately want the validation that you’re “good”

This is because you’re insecure

You’re confused

You’re doubtful

You crave something to latch on to

To make the doubts about yourself go away

To make the doubts and confusion about tomorrow go away

“At least I’m good”, you say

Some of us want to at least be “successful”,

Some of us want to at least be “good”

So what do you do?

Used to be god and priest and compatriots and antecedents telling you what to do and what to believe and what is right and what is wrong,

But we don’t believe in gods no more

Most of us don’t believe in countries no more

We don’t even believe in families no more

Instead of the delusion of a punishing god,

Instead of the delusion of your homeland’s greatness,

Instead of the stress of your families traditions and beliefs and expectation,

Instead of that you’ve:

climate change,

social justice,

scepticism,

red pill and what-not,

coaching and fitness and new age and gurus

All of the above holds an elements of truth, I guess

Just like the bible,

And the rest is just religion,

Merely something to believe in,

Something to give meaning to your life,

Something to make you feel “GOOD”

And allay your doubt and confusion, if just for a moment

…perhaps it’s even for the good,

You have meaning — so at least you don’t fucking kill yourself,

You suffer your fate because you believe it’s for the better,

You believe you’re “good”,

At least you’re not causing more trouble,

Not more trouble than forcing your religion onto others,

“go to church”,

“save the planet”

…and planet does need being taken care of,

…just like one should reflect upon his death, and what comes after it, if anything at all, and about the transcendental…

that’s the element of truth,

but the rest is religion,

the rest is delusion,

the rest is self-serving,

the rest is escapism,

a diversion

I don’t condemn you for needing to believe in something and feel that you’re “good”,

Please do find meaning in life, even if false-meaning,

Please use the false-meaning to dig out of the MEANINGLESSNESS AND NIHILISM of modernity

Feed yourself with some pop-culture and pop-morality

BUT,

once you’ve found some traction,

once you’ve found yourself some occupation,

something to do every day with this life of yours,

something to believe in,

something to distract you from the emptiness,

now it’s time to ask yourself,

HOW CAN I TRULY BE USEFUL?

HOW CAN I TRULY BE GOOD?

…and then it’s time to let go of those false gods,

false authorities,

it’s time to grow up,

and actually start making a change,

finding the smallest contribution you can actually make,

making your own values

finally

don’t condemn the sheep and their beliefs,

understand how they need it,

love and appreciate them for the innate goodness of their hearts, with which they crave to do better and be better,

show them the way to truly be better,

show them REAL WAYS in which they CAN make a change,

in their lives, AND IN THE WORLD

and eventually they won’t need the false gods,

they shall stand strong on their own
