Is a Ferrari the most telling indication of material wealth?

It’s not a horrible indication. Even renting a Ferrari requires a dollar or two

It’s not a great indication. Dollar or two to rent a Ferrari is not really wealth, is it

There’s a degree of probability — perhaps it’s their own Ferrari

Then again, is Ferrari really that expensive?

And perhaps it’s their entire net worth actually, that stupid Ferrari

Furthermore, perhaps even 2 Ferraris are not that expensive

Perhaps there are better indicators of wealth, more revealing of the magnitude of that wealth.

E.g. a Ferrari, AND a YACHT

BUT,

maybe it’s neither

Maybe a big mansion in an expensive neighbourhood is a better indication of wealth

Maybe they drive a FIAT, because who gives a fuck about a Ferrari, except for insecure show-offs and adult children.

But they live in a nice place because it has a nice impact on their lives

BUT,

Perhaps even that is irrelevant

Perhaps you’d learn more if you found what they do

Perhaps it’s neither the Ferrari nor the fucking house

Perhaps it’s how many people LISTEN — when they speak

Or how much the fucking ground shakes, when they “go to work” and make decisions

Perhaps it’s about impact

BUT,

How do you know what “GREAT IMPACT” is?

Is it when every other mediocrity heard of them?

Is it when important people think that you’re important?

And WHEN is it actually reflective of the material success — and not some other success?

 

The FAKE looks more attractive because it looks HOW WE IMAGINE the REAL THING should look

Which is typically easy to achieve

And then, to take it further, the FAKE looks more LEGIT — because we have FUCK ALL CLUE how the REAL THING ACTUALLY IS, in fucking essence

It is our own IGNORANCE, our INNATE INABILITY to EXPLAIN the world — which results in INABILITY to decide what is REAL and what is NOT, obviously

And this includes deciding what is LEGIT, and WHAT IS NOT LEGIT

 

You don’t know what makes Elon go around

You don’t know the components

Is it engineering genius? Business genius? Synergy of the two?

Is it pure luck?

Is it sociopathy?

Is it madness and resulting daring?

Is it his amazing team, magical attraction of the top talent?

Is it a combination of the above?

Is it NOT a combination of the above?

You don’t fucking know

 

If you’re really stupid then your idea of the richest man in the world is an idea of a Ferrari.

If you’re stupid then your idea of the richest man in the world is perhaps “great business idea”, or access to secret society and government and secret generational wealth, or maybe evil capitalistic exploitation of the workers, or maybe a comic-book level genius, or something grotesque like that

Ferrari appears right, if you’re really stupid

And the latter SEEM LEGIT, if you’re stupid.

Often SEEMS MORE LEGIT than the reality

(major event/major cause heuristic)

More legit than a combination of exceptional ability, hard work, right place at the right time, and copious amounts of good fortune to glue it all together

DEFINITELY more legit than just a NERDY guy writing software in his garage, like the Billy boy

More legit than this fumbling and mumbling and tweeting adult child Elon

 

We have FUCK ALL CLUE how the REAL THING ACTUALLY IS, in essence

And guess what — it doesn’t matter

It DOESN’T MATTER — unless you’re after the SAME GOALS

And when you are — then you LEARN what ACTUALLY is the cause

You learn as you attempt to realise those goals

…or even if you don’t learn — at any rate trying things is the only way to attempt to cause the desired outcome

 

What this means is:

You should only be interested on whether someone is LEGIT OR NOT — if you’ve something to GAIN from it

And the ACT ITSELF of ATTEMPTING to GAIN THAT THING — is what will VERIFY, if:

-the advice was legit

-the theory was legit

-the idea was legit

-the person was legit, capable of delivering

 

UNLESS you gain from it — then it’s meaningless anyway

Your stupid little opinion of whether mr billionaire is stupid, or your neighbour is making a mistake — IT DOESN’T FUCKING MATTER

Your OPINIONS don’t benefit you — your ACTIONS do

 

So

You can’t trust appearances, most the time

Most the time you can’t even know if something is LEGIT — because THE REAL THING will actually look LESS LEGIT than the fake

But you’re going to DO THINGS anyway

You’re going to strive anyway

And THAT is not only the ONLY source of truth

It’s also the only thing which matters
