Whether it’s coffee or cocaine or whatever else you use — either you know how to use it, and use it consciously — or not
some substances and interests will ruin you, true
but the real demon is always within: your proclivities and habits
you’re not much designed to USE things
you’re designed to eat some mammoth, find a woman/man, make some children, don’t freeze to death and don’t get fucking eaten
once you’ve gotten over those matters — you can take some time off to ponder this miracle of existence, or make something artistic
but not use things
see you can use things to aid your goals
have a coffee when you’re sleepy
have some coke when you’re very sleepy
if you can’t relax then do get drunk… you’re in trouble either way
use the car to get to work on fucking time
use air conditioning if you live on the desert or something
use contraception if you can’t provide materially and psychology for too many progenies
use computers for almost every work these days — this is the tool of advancement
you can use things to get real things, for real goals
but when you use things for no reason — they become a perversion
when you build (walls of) habits around yourself, your life, you lose contact with the real, spontaneous existence — therefore you die, you become living dead — going through the motions of your rigid habits
rigid habits and MINDLESS USE
use of social media
use of coffee
use of alcohol
use of sex
use of entertainment
use of pleasure
the original meaning of those things becomes perverted
you become a raging drunk
sex becomes vulgar and demeaning
pleasure loses it’s potency
entertainment dulls you
social media separates you from real life, reduces your world to a 5 inch fucking screen, and locks you in there
so yeah some of you get rid of social media
some of you cease masturbation, as though man haven’t been doing it for thousands of years
some of you swear of alcohol, like it’s some virtue
some of you don’t eat animals
some of you go for dopamine detoxes
some of you spend $0.0
you’re not doing anyone a favour with that
you’re doing it for yourself
doing LESS instead of more is the right direction
just remember that this asceticism is itself the movement of habit — rigid and dead
just remember that this asceticism is itself the movement of habit — rigid and dead
be ALIVE instead
welcome all that comes your way
indulge in it fully — but without trying to posses it, without trying to make it permanent
have your fucking coffee when you’re sleepy
do what you want and what you think is right
just be fully conscious of it
only conscious of it
without being possessed by those things
and without possessing
