I Want You To Treat Yourself Good

I want you to pay attention to the experience, the sensation, the action and state of you treating yourself good

I want you to observe how different it is to the experience of mere self-indulgence, hedonism

I want you to observe how different it is to the experience of merely getting what you want, then more

I want you to observe how different it is to the experience of mere self-aggrandisement, ambition, grandness, overcoming

I want you to treat yourself good

I want you to take a moment and consider this all-important question of treating yourself good

(or anyone good, on that matter)

I want you to observe how you feel

I want you to observe how it feels:

your actions

your thoughts

your feelings

your identity

your plans

your life

your relationships

how does it really feel?

is it good?

does it do you good?

See you go around doing things and wanting things and getting things

You go around learning things and thinking things and judging things and preaching things

How’s that working out for you?

And I don’t want you to feel bad about yourself or this life,

I just want you to pay attention,

We take for granted what makes us feel good, what is GOOD for us

We don’t give it due attention

We accumulate ideas about what is GOOD and DESIRABLE

…and eventually we lose touch ENTIRELY with what is REALLY good for us

…and then you’re one of those people,

asked “HOW YOU DOING” — “you’re doing GREAT”!

and you may actually believe that

YOU ARE DOING WELL

only you’re miserable and on fucking meds

or you’re dulling yourself with the drug of consumerism, workaholism, dogma, what have you

…I want you to pay attention to the experience, the sensation, the action and state of you treating yourself good

I want you to see again how it feels to go for a walk, on a sunny day

to make yourself a delicious and healthy meal, and feel good afterwards,

to do something creative,

to GIVE to someone, expecting nothing in return,

to spend more time in silence,

to spend more time in nature,

to smile more,

to smile to people more,

to do something useful,

oh

…and you many hate those things!

but at least TRY finding the answer to that question,

HOW DO YOU TREAT YOU GOOD?

HOW DOES IT FEEL?

AND HOW WILL YOU GO ABOUT, TREATING YOURSELF GOOD?
