We learn via imitation
And lose our soul in the process
Deal with it
Since you’re an imitator anyway,
At least do the imitation properly
At least become conscious WHO you imitate
WHAT you imitate
WHY you imitate
Make that choice consciously
You will imitate someone
You will think what others think, because they think that
You will do what others do, because they do it
It’s going to happen
So might as well stop denying it
And when you accept it as true — at least you’re in a position to do something about it
At least you’re in a position to choose what you imitate
You could imitate the person who looks very successful
You could imitate the person who looks very happy
You could imitate the person who looks like they’re having a lot of fun
You could imitate the person who looks very fulfilled
I respect that
You may be a soulless puppet — but at least you’re the coolest fucking puppet in the block

The man who at least can say with some genuine ENTHUSIASM that he would LIKE to be that COOL PERSON, that “SUCCESS STORY”,
It’s better than deluding yourself that you’re such an independent individual — when in reality you can’t even commit to WHO you’d like to be like
You’re not independent — you’re just lost
Better admit that you’re a soulless puppet — and THEN exercise the VESTIGE of your individuality, of your inalienable uniqueness — to CHOOSE the BEST MODELS to IMITATE
Do you know when you cease being a puppet?
When you have already committed to BEING SOMETHING
When you have tried and failed and succeeded and failed and became jaded and became delighted and became enlightened and all the rest of it
When you have LIVED with passion already,
When you had that passion of saying: “I LIKE THAT. I WANT THEM. I WANT TO BE LIKE THAT”
That is passion
You’re a puppet anyway.
Take that passion and become someone else, become something you think you like,
EXPERIENCE it,
BECOME aware of it, of what you were thinking you would be, what you were thinking you were making yourself to be,
And it is THEN that you become an individual.
Individualism is NOT denying all collective, not rejecting all models, not rebelling against everything and nothing
Individualism is EXPLORATION
It’s as much LEARNING from others — as LEARNING from your own experience
Sometimes others teach you the most — sometimes your own experience is the guide
And what I posit here is that more often then not — you’re a fucking puppet
You think you’re so independent but you’re really just a product of your culture, environment and circumstance
It is in CHOOSING THOSE VARIABLES CONSCIOUSLY is when you make the FIRST STEP to ACTUALLY becoming independent
And it is only AFTER LEARNING ALL THERE IS TO LEARN from others — is when you can speak of now becoming your OWN MASTER OWN TEACHER OWN SAVIOUR OWN GURU
Find the happy person and BORROW their joy
Find the successful person and BORROW their business and mindset
Find the COOL person and befriend them and absorb their energy
LEARN from EVERYONE
Imitate! You’ll imitate something anyway
When you’ve learned all there is to learn – you’ll get to blaze your own trail anyway. You won’t have any other choice anyway.
Since you’re a puppet,
At least do it well
