Interpersonal Relations Heuristics:
1) Be positive
2) Be genuine
3) Give value
then
4) Treat everyone the same but keep ONLY the FEW of your CHOOSING
Be positive — unless you are positive you are negative. When you are negative you make others negative.
It doesn’t matter who you are and what you give if you are ultimately toxic. Stay home.
Be genuine — unless you are genuine you are disingenuous. Disingenuous people stab other in the back. Nobody wants somebody to stab them in the back.
Don’t be smart, don’t be cool — be simple and GENUINE.
Give value — unless you give value you are essentially useless. You probably take value — hence you are outright inimical.
Giving value is ultimately simple and doesn’t require special kind of effort. Just an act of basic kindness is perfectly valuable. Notice how we always want things from others, how we want them to do something or change someway or admit our right… all that is taking value, or that is not giving value. For most people — giving value would simply mean no longer taking it.
Treat everyone the same — everyone does his best. Everyone is scared. Everyone is confused. Everyone wants to be respected. Treat everyone the same. Mistreating others is mistreating yourself.
KEEP THE FEW OF YOUR CHOOSING — never actively punish others. Nobody deserves to get punished. You can’t create justice — justice is not real. The only justice are the consequences of an action.
The only consequence of somebody mistreating you is YOU REMOVING THAT PERSON FROM YOUR LIFE. Either instantly, i.e. situationally, or completely.
