I wondered if mind’s liking for good challenge had egoic root. I wondered if it was ego proving itself and bolstering, in the face of yet another challenge.
Ego is THE MIND but the mind is more then just the ego.
The mind is, this wonderful tool, it is and it works, this mesmerising miracle of the intellect.
The mind is so powerful, so vast, it even is capable of overcoming it’s own beholder, of breaking out of it’s control… we all too often become slaves of our own compulsive mind, greedy mind, ambitious mind.
With all that said, obviously, mind is not evil. It is not malicious. Obviously it has no intrinsic value, it is neither negative nor positive, it is like a tool, which it actually is.
The entire dazzling miracle of the mind, it is indeed beautiful, it is a fascinating phenomenon.
Surely, the mind’s fondness for challenge is one of it’s staggering features. Doesn’t mind adapt to the challenges of this world by equipping itself with a self-rewarding system, directing one’s motivation to feasible yet progressive actions…?
SUCH is the working of the mind.
Realizing this truth, in the light of consciousness, it creates freedom, freedom which is only attained when there is understanding.
Obviously mind strives on challenge. Such is the life – challenging. And the mind is admirably adapted. Challenge is a beautiful test for the mind.
Knife is meant to cut and needle is meant to sew and cloths are meant to wear and fire is meant to warm. So is mind meant to be used. The workings of the mind have certain purpose behind it. Mind is a tool and tools are meant to be used.
The freedom from the mind, freedom from all it’s acquisitiveness and activeness, it is not to be attained by it’s denial.
Denial never renders freedom. Psychologically — all repression only magnifies the strife.
Freedom from the mind, freedom of the mind — it is only to be seized in understanding all it’s workings.
Now, is the mind EGOIC?
EGO is egoic.
Mind is what it is. A tool.
EGO is part of the mind, but mind itself can be free of ego, just a tool.
It is ego, which, once conceived, grows and overcomes it’s creator, like the mind itself tends to overreach it’s beholder.
It is ego which begins to use the mind as means of it’s own increase, of it’s own greedy expansion.
Is the mind’s liking for challenge EGOIC?
For those of us who PRIDE in our challenges and achievements – most clearly.
But the mind, the mind free from ego, the mind which enjoys a good think and rejoices in a challenge, such mind, it does not think in the past and present categories, it is only engrossed in the very moment, and the challenge is only important as means of providing entertainment for it’s voracious appetite, for all it’s quirks.
Such is this world in which we enjoy the nature, we enjoy the other person, we enjoy love and lovemaking, and we enjoy good thought and the many puzzling workings of the mind.
