Train Yourself like You’d Train a Dog

train yourself like you’d train a dog

by rewarding yourself like you’d reward a dog

you are not much different then a dog

by thinking you’re beyond basic training you are just like that dog

the dog is just as unaware of him being played

as you are in negating the truth about conditioning

you may believe that your motivations are higher but this is not the case for your needs

you may consciously aspire to the lofty heights but this is not the case for your subconscious

ultimately you end up discouraged half-way through, gasping for “motivation”

the dog needs a proper incentive all along the way

is doesn’t give a fuck about no false ideals, like you do

it doesn’t delude itself with long-term plans and goals and objectives

it doesn’t beg for the drug of outside motivation

the dog knows there is no motivation that will pull you through

unless you make the entire journey THE reward, in and of itself

reward yourself like you would a dog

either by choosing a REWARDING PATH

or by creating rewards for yourself

you obviously don’t want to rely entirely on artificial rewards you’ve created for yourself

you don’t want to turn into a dog completely, do you? mindless creatures

ideally your “higher level motivation” will become identical with your lower level drives, your doggy urges

I wish we were so elevated

wish every BREATH we took was a reward

you’re probably not there yet

you will need some extra push, extra incentive

to be a perfect intelligent human-like dog, I would:

-be extremely mindful of my wants

-be extremely sincere about my motivations

-be utterly dedicated to the REALITY: real problems at hand

-…REAL action in the moment

-with a profound degree of discernment of long-term consequences

-without the violent yoke of discipline

-without delusion of hope and motivation

-…with just a touch of GRATIFICATION coming to your money-brain, your dog-psychology, your excitable and fickle short-term motivation circuit

or to say it again:

please don’t fixate and what you think you want or what you think you need or what you think you must do

please do what you want in the simplest way it can be done

please don’t become so rigidly obsessed about no fixed destination

think in terms of DIRECTION instead

be intelligent and observant and you should discern the long term consequences of actions and connectedness of cause and effect

and then on top of it all, in your day to day action, please realise that you’re NO BETTER THEN A DOG,

make sure you have everything you need along the way

be sure you’re always ready to GO

by making sure you get your BONE every now and then
