Your boss is a mediocrity that is hopefully at least competent.
Your employee is a mediocrity that will hopefully do what he’s told, and do it at an acceptable level.
And whoever you wouldn’t employee is a mediocrity that is also useless, or even destructive.
There are great man out there of course, but
Most man are mediocre.
That doesn’t mean they are all incompetent
And it also doesn’t mean that all great man are competent — or rather — that all promising man will necessarily deliver on that promise — in the form of competence, and then excellence.
Of course we’d preferably be excellent and great,
But first you better be competent
First you better humble up and find your place,
Find you place in those discordant hierarchies,
Eat shit from mediocre morons, mediocre political leaders, mediocre cultural and ideological and thought “influencers”,
And find your place and be competent and be a productive member of the society,
And THEN become excellent
This is my advice to those of you who see the mediocrity around you and fail to make sense of it
And those of you who don’t see mediocrity?
Then you you are mediocre.
And that’s ok.
If you found your place in the world — it means at least you found some competence. Which is better than mere promise, which may never be delivered on
Now look at yourself and recognize your mediocrity — and try to improve
Starting with small things, every day
The point is:
-Let’s admit our mediocrity
-Let’s not deny it
-Let’s accept it — if we seek to improve on it
-And lets praise basic competence — which is FUNCTIONAL IN SPITE of mediocrity
-THEN find something more
Don’t be a hater, don’t be a cynic, don’t be a sceptic, don’t be an arrogant cunt
Do what you do to the best of your ability
Contribute value to society
Then do something more
And mind your business and be patient
