Are we the most IGNORANT ever now?

It’s human condition to be overconfident

Also, we know the most ever

The total of knowledge is greatest ever

Not to mention our access to this knowledge is orders upon orders of magnitude greater

Also, average person knows most ever

We can read, we can (know how to) use cars and internet,

we can obtain necessary information and use necessary tools to achieve great things, like move across the world, or cure cancer

But also

I don’t think we were ever as overconfident

Therefore I don’t think we were ever as delusional

Certainly not in modernity

Because for everything we learned — we learned 10 times more nonsense

Nonsense and opinions and delusions

That ratio was never flattering

But I think it’s getting worse

You think you know everything because it’s just one google away

And you’re certain you know what you know — because your favourite personality online has confirmed it

And if you want compelling explanation — you find a charismatic voice to thunder it to your enemies

And if you want smart explanation — you find a smart-sounding grifter to convince you of your superior facts and logic

And we no longer care about the only entities, institutions — which actually did care about the truth

Because truth was their purpose,

Or maybe just their system of incentives wasn’t as corrupted as yours

(you want to think that you’re right — they had to actually make it right),

We no longer care about that though

Again

We only ever had so much capacity to care for truth, over sweet delusions, like some virgins in heaven

But it almost seems like we passed the point of sanity

The delusion used to be inserted there where there was no truths, no evidence, no facts to rely on

Now it’s inserted everywhere — to the point of adversely impacting our lives, in a tangible way

But we still prefer the delusion, the lie

We care more about the lie than we care about ourselves

Or perhaps the world has just became so complicated that we no longer see the link between REALITY — and DESIRED OUTCOMES in life

That is the insanity threshold that we ventured into

I think the world feels now as though we suddenly started speaking in million different languages

I feel this is a good metaphor of how it feels in the world now

The communication gap between us has never been wider

Because of all the DISPARATE NONSENSE which has been taken to each of our heads

Nonsense and lies,

But also oversimplifications,

Which give us illusion of having a clue about physics and economy and quantum mechanics and business and evolutionary biology and phenomenology and what-fucking-not

So that when we meet, before we reach common ground — we must have first dispensed with all the lies, half-truths, oversimplifications, delusions, that each of us harbours

It’s like figuring out what word means what, between two individuals speaking two different languages
