PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY is SALVATION (And Not Welfare)

Individual is born fundamentally self-interested and rational

Self-interest means interest means motivation. Motivation to benefit oneself.

OPPORTUNITY is intrinsic to reality. If there is an idea, a desire, a WILL — then there exists an opportunity to realise that idea, from the essentially infinite realm of possible possibilities and unknown unknowns

The above is fundamental

You are born

You have an interest, a desire, a problem, an idea

If it’s strong enough — you go ahead explore

Now, when we say that “there are no opportunities”, what does it mean?

It only means that the opportunities apparently available are too insubstantial to justify investing oneself in

Perhaps there are no more resources left to take advantage of those opportunities: no more time left, no more energy left, no more capital left

But the opportunities exist

Now why would we even say “there are no opportunities” ?

Do we say “there is no opportunity to go for a trip to mars this weekend”?

No

Because we only complain about the opportunities if we believe we ought to HAVE those opportunities

Perhaps because we saw someone else having those opportunities

Or because we read somewhere that we ought to have this and that opportunity, take advantage of it, and live happily ever after

Furthermore of course we follow up this reasoning with finding the reason why there are no opportunities

Finding someone responsible

It can be the entity which overtly declares responsibility for the opportunities available in that society

E.g. state

Or it can be some speculative entity, which hypothetically is responsible for this great injustice

E.g. illuminati

Now,

The fundamental question now is,

What creates more opportunity?

-Blaming some made-up secret group?

-Exerting pressure on the rest of the society, blaming it, guilt-tripping it into responsibility for your own inadequacy?

-Or finding one’s own opportunities oneself?

Do I reject the idea that society should support it’s individuals?

Do I reject the noble ideal that strong should help the weak?

Nothing of that sort

I believe the idea is noble

I reject the idea that anyone should be availed — before they strive to AVAIL THEMSELVES

I reject it as an individual seeking to help others

And I reject it as a MODEL OF SOCIETY

I reject it not only because it doesn’t work,

(which data shows, but what do I know about the fucking data)

I reject it because

I BELIEVE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY IS THE GREATEST GIFT ONE CAN EVER RECEIVE

See I wouldn’t like to get LUCKY even IF I COULD

Let alone have someone give up something they worked hard for — so that I’m a little bit more lucky

I wouldn’t like it because,

THAT WHICH I DIDN’T DO MYSELF — IS NOT REAL

THAT WHICH I DIDN’T GET MYSELF — IS NOT REAL

THAT WHICH I DIDN’T TEST MYSELF — IS NOT REAL

THAT WHICH I DIDN’T LEARN MYSELF — IS NOT REAL

I don’t want the “good life” of someone else

I want my own SHIT life

I don’t want the society to decide what’s good for me. EVEN if they’re right. EVEN if I suffer

I want to get it myself

So this is ultimately not merely a question of helping others or not, and a just society

It’s a question of WHAT IT MEANS TO BE AN INDIVIDUAL

And I believe to be an individual — is to MAKE ONE’S OWN MISTAKES

and PAVE ONE’S OWN WAY

And decide for oneself what one truly wants

And guess what — you can only know what you want — in relation to how much it cost you

Therefore,

All help but helping me to help myself — is the OPPOSITE of help. It’s destructive to the individual, therefore destructive to the society

And EVEN HELPING ME HELP MYSELF is an INTERFERENCE. It’s me learning… but not learning to learn,

Again my point is not that help is so evil

But that it’s extremely difficult to execute

And if it ever works — it works locally

The more locally the better

It works on the immediate level of one’s everyday surroundings, everyday community, everyday routine

Therefore if you want to help — help your brother and help your neighbour

Don’t help me. I don’t fucking give a fuck about what you think is good for me and the world

So for the last time,

Individuality over equality

Personal responsibility over comfort and security

Greatness of an individual over societal welfare

Imperfect natural system over unsustainable man made utopia

But again, foremost

Personal responsibility over comfort and security and happiness and fucking mediocrity

It’s a false dichotomy — selfish individual vs thriving collective, thriving society

There are ONLY THE THRIVING INDIVIDUALS

That is: there are NO THRIVING INDIVIDUALS who do NOT TAKE UTMOST PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Therefore the most “selfish” and EVIL thing to do, truly — is to deprive someone of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Selfishness and altruism are a myth in the first place.

You can only give once you’ve something to give.

You only acquire overabundance by selfishly seeking abundance.

And you only cooperate because of your self-interest

Collective is made of individuals

It only works as a collective if individuals successfully cooperate, which they do out of self-interest

But for the last time,

THRIVING is about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT, PERSONAL GROWTH

Everything else is secondary

Everything else is superficial

Self-development is THE development, period

It’s not about the house you’re in, the cloths you wear, the car/train/carriage/horse/donkey you ride,

Happiness is you expanding you

Fulfilment is you expanding you

Not what’s around you, those are tools at best

It’s about YOU

You having a VISION

Vision of reality, vision of yourself

And dedicating your entire BEING to it

This is what thriving is

Now only ask yourself,

How do you thrive more? How do you take more personal responsibility?

How does anyone thrive more? How is one empowered to take more personal responsibility?
