Reputation Deters You From Being Wrong

Reputation deters you from being wrong.

You are now avert to making mistakes – so that you protect your reputation.

But when you’re unwilling to be wrong — not only do you prevent yourself from learning — you also begin the movement of delusion.

Eventually even the truths you built your reputation on become corrupted.

Your reputation dies with you — but your competence dies long before it.

Good reputation is considered something to aspire to.

We turn a blind eye on the herd behaviour, hierarchies emerging, separation occurring, egos inflating and ultimately exploding.

Do your duty. Without excessive concern for reputation. Without any concern for the lofty notion of honour.

Do your duty. Be intelligent. What you do – do well.

“Good reputation” will invariably result — but do not concern yourself too much with it. Such desire should only possess you, and corrupt you.
