Simplicity is not generalising
Generalising is simplistic, reductionistic
Simplicity doesn’t reduce. Doesn’t judge. Doesn’t diminish. Doesn’t label.
When you hear — “BE SIMPLE” — it means:
be open,
be non-judgemental
be perceptive
see what is
don’t see what isn’t, don’t presume what isn’t
When you hear — “BE SIMPLE” — it means:
know yourself
know what you want
know what you are
know yourself now
and not tomorrow
don’t presume you know yourself tomorrow
don’t presume you are tomorrow
don’t presume there is tomorrow
know yourself now and treat yourself well, today
know what you really need, today
this is a simple approach to life, and not simplistic
it should actually make you happy, if you care about it
it is simplistic to ASSUME a nice car and a nice career and a nice whatever will make you happy
to know what you want today to know what you need today is simple but not simplistic
it is simple but difficult to see after you’ve muddied the waters
we inherit the body of culture which passes as value, as heritage
this is noise
it distracts you
you should hear the birds first. feel the sun on your naked skin. smell the blossoming trees in the springtime. look up to the sky…
….before you concern yourself with culture, legacy, heritage
Life can’t be simple in the worldly paradigm. Life must be heavy under the weight of culture, heritage, expectations, duties, ideas, philosophies, pursuits, ambitions… blablabla
One must unburden himself — not by making sense of the world, and all it’s noise — but by TRANSCENDING IT COMPLETELY
Try to make sense of this world and you either oversimplify it or further obfuscate it
Whatever you’re trying to make sense of doesn’t make sense to begin with. You inherit ideas which are not even yours.
The World’s Ambition is not your-ambition. You didn’t even arrive at your life course by yourself. You inherited ‘your’ path.
You can’t make sense of it because you’re not even it’s architect — it is arbitrary.
Best pass up the world completely. Follow your own course. Then – you can observe the entire movement of your needs and desires and passions and doubts – with UNDERSTANDING.
It’s all simple when there is understanding. It is basically equivalent. We only complicate when we don’t understand. We play with the pieces trying to make them work.
When there is understanding — there is simplicity.
When there is simplicity — there can be understanding.
Be simple so that you don’t have to oversimplify.
Be simple so that you don’t have to over-complicate, obfuscate.
Be simple so that you understand.
