If You Want It Gone, You Must FORGET It Utterly

When you want something gone,

You can’t simply think:

“I WANT IT GONE”

Obviously

If you want it gone entirely — it must also be gone from your thoughts

Well, when you think how much you “want it gone” — you’re thinking OF IT

Therefore it’s NOT gone from your thoughts

quite a paradox

Now how do you NOT THINK of something?

Well you can’t just tell yourself:

“I MUST NOT THINK OF IT”

This is the SAME trap as the previous one

Instead you just must stop thinking about something

Instead you just must stop doing something

But this sounds banal. You know that already.

But indeed you don’t do that, because you do the previous mistakes,

You THINK about it being gone

You THINK about NOT thinking about it

Thus perpetuating it in your psyche

Thus never fully getting rid of it

This is ESPECIALLY evident with matters which almost exclusively live in your psyche

You can’t FORGET into UNEXISTANCE your neighbours red car. You may have to do obliterate it first, somehow

But you CAN FORGET a thought you had

A HABIT you had

But just as much you can make yourself NEVER forget, NEVER unlearn, NEVER be free

You NEVER forget your insecurities, you never forget your failures, you never forget that you are addicted to something not exactly worth living for

And this is why you must simultaneously CARE LESS,

While seriously QUIT those things, DIVORCE yourself

BOTH must be done

And this is again of course profoundly confusing

Because you equate SERIOUSNESS with CARE, and also with STRESS, with TENSION, with EFFORT,

But it’s not so

You can very seriously cry day and night that the world is UNFAIR and ROTTEN — and there will be NOTHING changed, ever. NOTHING serious about a neurotic baby crying in their room

Professional just gets shit done, without wasting energy, without hand-waving, without babbling

THIS is seriousness

It’s to say you’re going to DO something — and then DOING IT

Which NECESSARILY also means that you’re capable of doing it

And if you’re NOT capable — then you seriously admit that you’re NOT capable — and that is seriousness too

And both forms of seriousness can be done without any gratuitous emotion, without hysteria, without wincing and scowling and grunting, you’re not a baby, or a fucking animal

And this is what it means to GET RID OF IT seriously

Indeed the emotion of DESIRE, TENSION, DETERMINATION — to GET RID OF SOMETHING — is itself a form of SEMANTIC LOAD attached to that THING you want to get rid of

Just like the thought “I WANT IT GONE” reminds you, and KEEPS ALIVE that which you want gone…

…so does the TENSION in your body, the STRESS, the determination — remind you of it’s VERY CAUSE — which was the struggle to GET RID OF something

…and I know it sounds crazy

But some things are only achieved by LETTING GO, indeed

By letting them DIE

By DOING LESS

Because EVERYTHING you do in relation to them — keeps them alive

But any time you forget about them, for a moment— they slowly become less and less real…

This is also why it’s ever best to JUST double the fuck down on the “positive”

Why “positive thinking” really is so powerful

Why you’d rather have optimism bias

Why you’d rather be naive

Because then your THOUGHTS and ACTIONS and EMOTIONS and ENERGIES and ATTENTION all fucking ALIGN on the single GOAL — which is CONSTRUCTIVE, “POSITIVE” indeed

I strongly recommend this method as a way of dealing with your DEMONS and FLAWS

FIRST figure out how to LIVE without them

Make sure it’s SUSTAINABLE

Replace that which you can’t live without with something which can compensate for it

Figure out all the necessary components, steps, details

And then EXECUTE

And as you do

JUST focus on the road ahead

And FORGET that fucking thing

Don’t TRY to forget

JUST forget

…And if it returns — figure out a better way

Find it’s source again

Go DEEPER and DEEPER

And find a GREATER and more BEAUTIFUL INSPIRATION

The REAL reason why you are getting rid of that other thing in the first place

And then celebrate it twice and trice as strongly

Cherish it utterly

Love it entirely

LOSE yourself in it

So that there’s no more energy, no more attention, no more FUCKING TIME for that previous nonsense

It can’t exist, because there’s no room for it

Might as well never have existed
