Have you noticed facts are offensive?
Men and women are different but you have to be cautious with expressing those differences… overstep the mark a little bit, and you are chauvinistic… or racist.
Or mean! You can’t even call out a fat person.
Indeed, minorities exploit the noble notion of tolerance, but our unwillingness to speak the truth is yet a larger problem. Why is the truth offensive?
If we look at the history of mankind, or even just look around us, it is not difficult to observe the truth is rarely ever the priority.
What good is the truth anyway? Facts are just mere facts. Sterile and meaningless, void.
It is how you use it, that matters. It is what you’re receiving, that matters. Really, what you’re receiving, what you’re getting, is the only thing that matters. It’s the only thing that is valued in this greedy society… and therefore:
The truth, or what you call the truth, is only means to an end, and therefore, it will always only be secondary.
Why is the truth offensive, then?
Because it is not what you want to believe.
And unless you value the truth over your personal desires… you will reject it, and you will not receive it.
There are small, everyday truths, and there are large, transcendent truths…
Perhaps, you will be able to see, you will be able to see more clearly, the moment your own greed, your petty wishes, beliefs and desires, will not blur your vision.
And then, can the truth still be offensive?
