You will waste your potential.
You will waste your potential and you won’t even realize it — until it’s too late
Do you know why you will waste your potential?
Because your potential is INFINITE.
Alas your time is finite.
You can’t have it all
And chances are you can’t even have a lot
You know you could do this and that, and you could have this and that — but you just can’t have it all at once
It’s possible — but it’s not that likely
You can strive to have it all — but you shouldn’t expect it
Thus you will waste your potential
You will regret it or you will deny your regret or you will deny your wasted potential
Maybe you won’t even be aware of what you lost
But you will waste your potential
Now what?
If you are going to waste your potential anyway — might as well decide what potential of yours you ARE going to REALIZE.
Might as well consider how you can get the MOST out of this potential of yours — since you can’t get all of it
And then might as well ask yourself:
NOW THAT I (WILL HAVE) WASTED MY POTENTIAL — HOW DO I WANT TO LIVE?
How do you want to live?
What potential of yours do you really want to realize?
How can I realize MORE of my potential (but not all)?
Those are questions
Questions imply answers imply CHOICES
You must choose
The story of yourself “fulfilled and complete”, one day, somehow somewhere — that story is a LIE
Now that you know that it’s a lie — what do you do? What different choices do you make?
How are you COMPLETE — even if you FAIL?
How have you ENJOYED this brief existence — even if you only got so little?
THOSE are the questions
The REAL questions
And THOSE are the choices
You will have wasted your potential — but MAYBE you will not have wasted your life
I know you didn’t mean to
No one means to waste their lives
And then they do
So start today
Really you can only ever start today
And if you can only not waste today — then you have succeeded
Your life is your days
Don’t waste your days
What can you work on that is worthwhile — even if you fail?
What should you work on — and what should you thus give up on?
What can you do that should make you smile — even if it’s small?
What MORE can you do?
