You can think
You just have to focus
You may want to slow down
I think the main reason why men are so fucking stupid is because they don’t think
They think but not really
Or don’t think at all
I don’t reckon thinking ought to be so hard
I don’t reckon thinking is exclusive to the chosen few
But I do believe you must genuinely WANT to think
You need a genuine motivation
Such as having an actual PROBLEM to solve
Or your natural curiosity
Otherwise it’s doomed to fail
Otherwise your “thinking” will be some queer perversion
Some childish game
Or an instrument of deception
We no longer think because sometime somehow we got stuck in a rut,
It doesn’t challenge us to adapt, therefore it doesn’t challenge us to think
Eventually we can’t think at all, we become slow and stupid like our grandmas and grandpas
(What comes first: neurological degeneration or existential stagnation? I reckon we begin to expire the day we are born — but can speed up this process considerably by NOT living)
We no longer think because we are not curious,
What’s at the cause? Curiosity causes curious life, or curious life causes curiosity?
Irrelevant. Once you recognise your idleness as slow decay — you will naturally feel compelled to get a little bit more alive, a little bit more astir, a little bit more curious, while you still can.
…and you can think,
You’re not very motivated to actually think, if there’s nothing commanding of such considerable effort,
but you can think,
You can attain fantastic clarity
You can think
You just need a reason to think,
And then you just have to sit and think,
Focus and think,
Go as slowly as you need to, until you’ve unraveled the solution,
You conclude,
and you’ve done it
You can think
You can get a lot of thinking done,
You can achieve a LOT with thinking
(obviously action follows, but it’s inseparable from thought, from intent, from a plan, from conviction)
You can achieve a LOT with thinking
I don’t think most have very many thoughts in their lives at all!
It’s mostly just the same old inner-monologue,
When you actually think, you quickly get far ahead,
Try it yourself though
Try it yourself though.
The actual thinking,
Find a problem and solve it
Find something you CARE about, so that you CARE about figuring it out,
Take your time. FOCUS, for once.
Relax too. You can only gain from this.
Remember: quality over quantity! A few good thoughts, few good epiphanies, and you might have solved a serious problem.
Think
