You Talk In Lieu of Action

You talk in lieu of action.

When you don’t know what to do — you start talking.

When you’re reluctant to do something — you start talking.

When you know what to do — you just do it. There’s nothing to talk about.

It’s ok to pause and think — if it’s followed by action.

It’s ok to philosophise for fun — if you understand that fun it is — impractical and meaningless (unless followed by real world action).

Otherwise thinking and learning and talking is a distraction. Distraction from the goal, obviously. The goal being an outcome. Outcome obviously achieved through action.

It’s a great heuristic: that which you endlessly talk about is that which you’re not serious about.

We think TALKING about something is a mark of serious interest in it! Nonsense!

When you’re hungry — you just eat. You don’t talk about it.

When you’re sleepy — you just sleep. You don’t harp on just exactly in what position you’re going to sleep and which pillow you’re going to select and exact minute you’re going to fall asleep blabla

When subjects become more complicated you MAY consider more, may think more, may consult more, may talk more,

And THEN you ACT anyway — and TALKING ENDS. It ends. It never follows action. Talking never follows action… UNLESS this talking is followed by ACTION again.

Even your life — you just live it — and the you die. Once you’re dead — there’s nothing to talk about, no more talking. You LIVED — life has ended — you’re NOT talking.

Understand this and remember this,

Don’t confuse the thinker with the doer with the fool. Those are 3 different people.

Fool does something or does nothing but he does it inadequately.

Thinker thinks neatly but does nothing therefore is useless. Worse than useless — for he makes impression of being useful.

DOER just gets the job done. He talks about it or not — but actions speak louder than words.

Be mindful when you’re being a thinker and when you’re being a fool.

If you don’t know the difference between the fool, the thinker, and the doer — you will not realise when you are being one of them.

Understand when you talk instead of acting. When your talking is a distraction. Understand when others do it.

But also understand when you’re being thoughtless, or rash. Understand when you should pause and reconsider. This happens too. It’s called habit.

Both are a problem and if you don’t understand it — you will make BOTH mistakes.

Because everyone does.

Everyone talks a lot — and IN SPITE of all that talking everyone does a lot of foolish things.

Talk less. And when you do — do it only in order to follow it with a wise action.

Enough talking
